Springtime! Ideal to sow and grow herbs and veggies from seed with your Herb Garden Kit.
Get them started indoors ready for planting inside, or outside when it is suitable in your area. Most of the Culinary herbs, Basil, Oregano,Thyme, Chives, Parsley, Mint, Sage, Coriander, Marjoram, Borage, will do particularly well if started now. Add some Lettuce, Rocket, Cherry Tomatoes, Cherry Capsicums and Chillis and you will be eating fresh every day. Growing your own food at home is great for your wellbeing, will save you money, and also reduce your carbon footprint.
We supply specific seed varieties in the Kits, but they can of course be used for almost any seeds. Mesclun Mix – or mixed baby greens - and edible Mini Marigolds will be now included in the free seeds we send with all Kits. Plant them with your herbs and salad veggies or feature them in pots, Stack-A-Pots planters and hanging baskets, they’ll look fantastic and be beneficial to your garden either way.
Here in Gosford we have Parsley,Marjoram, Basil, Oregano, Mint, Lettuce, Cherry Tomatoes and Borage, as well as Peas and Spinach all growing well in Stack-A-Pots and other containers and enjoying the warmer days.
The Spring Season is also a good time to re-pot or divide any older herb plants that you’ve had for some time, and fertilise lightly with an organic product such as some good quality compost, or Charlie Carp All Purpose or Premium Organic Fertiliser available from Bunnings stores, a little goes a long way. Made from European Carp, turning a major pest in Australian waterways into an environmental positive.
